Biographical history
Maria Margarida Abreu Teixeira da Costa nasceu em 1931-01-16. Ingressou no Instituto Superior de Serviço Social (ISSS-L) de Lisboa em 1950, onde se formou como assistente social. tendo complementado a sua formação com diversos cursos nesta área. Em 1954 integrou o corpo docente do ISSS-L, A partir de 1963 (até 1970) integrou a direção do Instituto, tendo ainda exercido o cargo de subdiretora para os Assuntos Pedagógicos (1968-1970). Posteriormente desempenhou funções no Ministério da Educação Nacional, participando no Grupo de Estudo para a Reforma do Ensino (1970/71). Na Universidade Católica Portuguesa desempenhou funções diversas donde se destacam as de diretora adjunta dos Serviços Sociais (1981-1997), docente com regência na Licenciatura em Serviço Social (entre 2001/02 e 2005/06) e coordenadora adjunta do Curso de Serviço Social (2002/03).
